When you have a small list of suspects, enable everything except that mod / those mods, play game. In this way you can usually zero in on the problem child without loading literally each mod alone. If you have the crash / FPS drop when using "half my mods" step, good! Issue is in this half. No trouble? Turn those off, enable next handful of mods.
